Benefits of Yoga

BODY

Yoga is great for the body.

Do you have a nagging back?  Are you feeling stiff after sitting in a chair all day?  Are your shoulders giving you trouble?  Do you have indigestion?  Is it difficult to get out of bed?  Do you wish you were stronger, more flexible and more balanced?

Practicing yoga can help you.   Even if you are fit, healthy and agile already, you will feel the physical benefits of a yoga practice.  And the best news is you already have everything you need to practice yoga, because all you need is a body.  In any condition.  Special conditions, special clothes, particular temperatures, props or famous teachers are not necessary.  The only thing you need to practice yoga is you, whatever condition you are in.

MIND

Stress is one of our biggest killers.  If you are suffering from stress you may not be able to relax, your breathing may be erratic, and your body manifesting symptoms of distress.  You may not be able to quiet the mind or think ‘straight’.  You may have difficulty sleeping.

Yoga is about stilling the mind, bringing you back to yourself and enabling you to let go; physically, mentally and emotionally.

Many techniques for stress relief you learn in your yoga class can be used in your everyday life, wherever you are, whatever you are doing.

Practicing Yoga will give you a better quality of life, whatever you do, however you do it.

SOUL

What are you truly hungry for?

Yoga works on all levels.  Many people come to yoga to help their bad back or to gain flexibility, but they end up finding something deeper in the practice.  The back gets better, the muscles strengthen and lengthen but what keeps them coming back is the way yoga feeds them on all levels.  And yoga, as a practice to achieve unity with the self, dates back thousands of years.  The importance of coming back to the self, or finding yourself, has always been a human concern.  So who are you?  What are you looking for?

Yoga is much more than just great stretching.  This ancient Indian practice can be a powerful and effective path of transformation out of our habitual holding patterns and distortions, and into our own body’s innate intelligence and desire to be in balance on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

You can bring balance to your life.  We can teach you techniques to enable you to do this.  We can offer you the space, time and technique to feed yourself.
